Description

Product Name: RARE Antique Roman Bronze wholesale Key (c. 1st Century A.D.)
Composed of bronze, this spectacular ancient Roman bronze key is in excellent condition for its age and a classic representation of ancient artisnal skill. Its unusual shape suggests a small trunk or chest key, however that cannot be ascertained with absolute certainty. Ancient Romans were the first civilization that began to use keys similar to modern ones. These keys were made of bronze or iron; and at times, wood or bones would be used. The keys to the locks were smaller, lighter, and more comfortable to grip by the ear. The ancient Romans innovated the combination of a ring with a key. This artifact has been attested as authentic to the Roman Empire wholesale (c. 1st century A.D.) by Mr. Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands LTD, and accompanied by a signed digital PDF copy of the ring's “Provenance & Ownership” documentation.
