The body is metal, beautifully machined. You can actually feel the quality. There's a window for distance to subject in feet and meters. Rotate the barrel while holding the button marked by orange “M” for macro mode. It's that simple. Note: This is the newer model with an improved focus ring (as recommended by Rockwell).
